The Golden Bird!

A nation that created me,
That gave me everything,
Flag that has colors three,
The national symbol having a king.

The day I was born,
I breathed in its air,
That day unaware of the horn,
Was busy crying in tears.

Indebted to it,
For the life it gave me,
Above all it made me sit,
Could not have been so free.

Later came to know,
What a nation means to one,
Help it to grow,
The work is still undone.

Politics is understood,
As a dirty field here,
No one enters to make it good,
And they say: why we'd bear?

Cricket is that jewel to us,
You can't take away,
Even single matches create a fuss,
We win that is all we pray.

Reservation is our food,
Without which we can't live,
If your tribe has been screwed,
Come everything we will give.

A lifeline to people,
Every month we have ample,
Celebrating love and joy ripple,
They are our dear festivals.

People: they are just jaunty,
They will make you happy,
They welcome you fondly,
Love is what they always carry.

When comes to the nation,
They are not responsible,
Blaming each other in accusation,
That is why development is impossible.

Well, one day they will wake,
One day a new sun will rise,
The day that will be the last break,
The boat that will never capsize.

No matter how they are,
I still love them,
Brothers, sisters not by far,
We are the roots and stems.

Albeit 29 in number,
They still stand as one,
All bear to make a tricolor,
Without even one, we are none.

Lastly, I want to say,
Stop arm-chair politics people,
That is not our way,
It's in our hand to remove evil.

Incorporating all these facts,
No matter what says media,
The nation that always attracts,
I love my India, I love my India.

Diversified Yet Unified

No one is one until united,
An entity that is the symbol of pride,
Some call it states, we call it the nation,
For the people that are unified.

Albeit a disputed area, Jammu
And Kashmir has been since birth,
Still, no one can ignore the fact,
It is the heaven on the earth.

One of the most fertile land,
You can find on the globe,
Farms, Rivers, Bhangra, Lassi,
Rare things in its wardrobe.

A land of wrestlers and boxers,
Haryanvi is their special trait,
Sports is in the root of the crowd,
Yet most economically developed state.

Mountain and Valleys everywhere,
Snow adds to the beauty of the landscape,
Waterfalls, greenery, and the aura,
You will be awestruck with a gape.

A conglomeration of every culture,
Land of spirituality and khadi boli,
Most populous state of the nation,
The land is divine and holy.

One can find holy temples,
Art and craft its specialty,

Culture and heritage of the country,
Also called as the heart of India,
The land is famous for its history.

The capital of the nation,
Summers hot, winters chilly,
You will love the place,
Dil waalo ki bani hain Dilli.

Famous for its food all over,
Raja's and Maharaja's ruling place,
Hot deserts and villages a delight,
Kesariya Balam, Padharo Mare Des.

The state produces business tycoons,
Jolly people, rich culture, and snacks,
Adorable are its nights and noons.

The sweet oranges of Nagpur,
Rains of Mumbai that amazes,
Begeted Bollywood and Vada-Pav,
One of the most amazing places.

Famous for history and politicians,
The land of prodigious ones,
Knowledge is in their blood,
Everyone they outrun.

Sunrise in Kanyakumari,
Silk of Kanchipuram,
Amber dum biryani of Vellore,
Temples of Mahabalipuram.

Second longest coastline,
Home to the Tollywood,
Places like Visakhapatnam,
Lye under its hood.

Houses industrial hub of the nation,
Another home to Tollywood,
On June 2nd, 2014,
It achieved separate statehood.

Land of Portuguese earlier,
Knows for its beaches,
A destination for tourists,
Home to amazing churches.

Enchanting greenery and landscape,
You can find the Western Ghats,
Venice of the East,
Kathakali and the famous art.

Silk and sandalwood of Mysore,
Adventures in Dandeli,
Eyegasmic site of Jog falls,
The cuisine is best for your belly.

Another holy place of the nation,
Simplipal National Park is here,
See the sunset in Chandipur Beach,
Lose yourself in sanctity that is rare.

Bastar Arts, wrought iron works,
Every time uncovered by media,
Still, home to natural beauty,
Chattisgarhiya sabse badiya.

Land of sweet people,
Sweet as the real sweets,
Jolly people, and rivers,
Always give you a treat.

Bihu celebrated in three types,
Home to one-horned rhinoceros,
Tea gardens a lifeline of India,
The city of Guwahati is glorious.

One of the seven sisters,
Maximum rain, wettest region,
Rich in flora and fauna,
Pineapple is grown in a legion.

Although an insurgency-hit,
Still a beautiful place,
Introduced polo to Europeans,
Here history has its trace.

Most of the state is mountainous,
The elegance of the state unfurled,
One of the smallest state,
Falcon capital of the world.

Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains,
Most diversified state,
The Orchid state of India,
Because of its distinguished trait.

Smallest state of the country,
Represents landscape like Leh,
Cold breezes air on sunny days,
Will not let you say heh.

Mines here, mines there,
Mines are everywhere,
Rich in mineral resources,
Here flows a different air.

Bamboo and cane tracts,
Third smallest state of the nation,
Green imperial pigeon state bird
House of beautiful hill stations.

91% of the state forested,
Home to unique tribes,
The landscape and climate,
Words cannot describe.

The Indescribable Beauty

A young lad started a journey,
To one of the remote villages of the country,
Slowly through the window of his seat,
Scenes started to change,
From big building and structures,
To perpetual farms and fields.

Initially, he savored what he saw,
The change in the atmosphere around,
Suddenly after some time, a disgust aroused,
The same change in the atmosphere,
Which he was relishing moments ago,
Now made him suffocate in that pure air.

The day passed and the sun rose next day,
Contemplating his thoughts again,
The kid observed something different,
Made him fall in love with the place,
A peace and serenity lied there,
A simple living he couldn’t overlook.

Wondering of his incorrect thoughts,
Wondering of his false perceptions,
Amidst of all, anew air started to flow,
A vibe that had all the positivity in it,
Adoring the place for its ingenuousness,
He desired to be one among them.

Then the time came for his departure,
A place now he wanted to never leave,
Lingering and praying to stay there,
Finally, he managed to leave,
Savoring every experience he had,
He left the place unaltered in its essence.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

NOTE: - This article of mine specifically and eloquently speaks about the bond we humans share with some other very special humans, known as Friendship and its related content. The bond friends share, the things they do, the fun they have and etc. So it might contain some explicit content at places and therefore for those of you who still belong that orthodox community of world I beforehand urge you to please stop your journey of reading this article at the end of this note that is here.

So to begin with, in 1994 a show aired on American TV including six persons as its lead cast widely known as F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Most of you must be acknowledged to it and some of you may not. The show often credited as the "Best Show Ever", "Best Show of All Time" and etc. is usually regarded so because there is something very special about this show. We all feel connected to this show with us being one of those six characters and the other five being our five best friends that matter the most in our life. But this specific thing is not the only beauty of this show. It has got a lot more. In fact, if you keep yourself out of the image being anyone out of six of them then this shows teaches legion of things that in real life our friends do and that's what the purpose of my writing this whole article is all about. The things I learnt from F.R.I.E.N.D.S or I must say from friends.

Let's first start with Joey Tribbiani not only because I connected with him the most but also because he is my personal favorite among all of them. So first of all, this man taught me to be blithe for every moment, for every second of your life. He taught me to be chill in life because this very life we live ought to be chilled. He taught me that you should live every breath of yours till it's your last. Be a glutton. Eat recklessly and greedily and do not hesitate in doing the same with your friends because they only adore you for this. Be popular among girls. Make out with as many as girls till you find your true love. Love what you do and do what you love even if doesn't earn you well because someday you are gonna be Dr. Drake Ramoray in Days of Our Lives. Be the one who always makes other laugh because of his out of the box antics. Be the one who can open a girl's top without ripping off any buttons on it. Be awesome and carefree that's what he taught me cause life is short and you gotta live every moment of it.

Moving to Chandler M. Bing, the funniest of all. Well, he taught me that there are a humor, satire, and sarcasm in almost everything and even if there's not, you can make one out of it. Maybe no one takes you seriously or maybe people at your workplace do not know your real name but let this not stop people from loving you. Be supportive to your friends in thick and thin, be it financially like to Joey or emotionally like to all at times. And it doesn't matter if your past had someone like Janice or you are bad in bed because there will be times when you will eventually fall for someone very special, someone very close, someone whom you always called your best friend. Their happiness is what will matter you to most then. He taught me that be funny and touch-wood that ignites the fire of laughter.

Now Rachel Green, the girl upon whom everyone had a crush on at least at one point of time. And why not? The most beautiful (needs no proof), the best dressing sense (again no proof required) and obviously the princess of some fairyland. She taught me that a girl who has had always been a daddy's daughter and always under his caress, never seen the real world before, can well stand on her because of the talent she has. She taught me how to attract someone towards you. That it's always extraordinary to be loved by someone special very close to your heart. She taught me that it's not always good to hide your emotions. Sometimes just let them burst out. She taught me to be what you are in reality even if that's not good for the world cause it would be good for your friends no matter what.

Then the insane one Pheobe Buffay. Well, she was my favorite among the girl not only because she was attractive but also because she taught me something that we often ignore in us. Being weird and awkward. She taught me that it doesn't matter if you are in your 20s or 30s because everyone's got a child inside them and although most of us would bury it deep inside us you let him out in this real world. She taught me to be helpful and kind to others even if that requires giving birth to triplets of your brother. Don't forget the ones who begeted you even if they left you in misery cause it's because of them you are in this world. She taught me that it doesn't matter what your past was, all that matters is what your present is. She taught me to be weird, awful and childish because just like the Joker said, "Why So Serious"?

Then comes the most peculiar man Ross Geller. The nicest guy among the whole group. A father, a son, a brother, a friend, a lover, a paleontologist and what not? He taught me that it's amazing to love someone special with the whole your heart out. Be a brother who knows what is bad and good for your sister and be there for her. How to be a sincere and obliging son and how to be a dutiful and responsible father. And it's okay to get married and get divorced again and again because sometimes things just don't work out. Be emotional as and when required by the situations. Be smart and a man who knows his ways around everything be it friendship or life is what I learnt from him.

And the last but not the least his sister Monica Geller. You know that competitive and bossy Monica I am talking about that wants everything to be done in the way she has thought of it or you better be ready for the forthcoming disaster. She taught me that it doesn't matter whom you love is way elder than you cause all that matters is how much you love them. She taught it's okay to be mean at times especially if it involves your friends cause they just don't mind it. She taught me that sometimes your soulmate is very near to you all you need is to find him. She taught me that don't always feel special to have best persons as your friends but also constantly strive to make your friends feel the same. She taught me to be competitive, contending and be a true friend.

There are unremitting number of things that these six characters edified me in one way or the other and the list is beyond the scope of this article because writing all that stuff is just impossible as somethings you just have to feel and at the same time it would be unjustified so as to pen down them. But I will try to outline the basic things that I learnt all in all. First of all, I learnt that be a true friend and if you can't be that then don't be it. As simple as that. Be supportive. Be a friend who has always got their back. Encourage them when they need motivation. Have fun with them. Share everything with them. Tease them. Make a fool out of them. Surprise them. Celebrate with them. Plan out a journey with them. Be in trouble with them. Stand up for them cause they will always for you whether it's right or wrong. Cheer them up when they feel lugubrious. Give biased judgment toward them. Quarrel with them. Be upset with them. Make them happy. Make them go furious over tiny things. Reveal their secrets to their parents (cause they hide the best with us). Mimic one of your friends with the others. Fall in your love with one of your friends just like Joey-Rachel, Ross-Rachel, Monica-Chandler because worst that can happen is there will a no for you. Be genuine, no show-offs. Be frank with them. Laugh your head off with them. Cry with them. Mourn with them. Let your friends fix a date for you cause sometimes random date can give you your soulmate, remember Mike? Confide in and hide your best secrets from them because they don't know that we know they know we know. Have priorities and keep them on the top of it. They are the second family to you. Create unforgettable memories with them because it's only that when you reminisce will bring a smile to your lips. And in the end be a FRIEND.

And this post is basically not an article. It's a thank you note from me being a general person to his friends that thank you all for being there in my life. Thank you for being there when I was going through the toughest times of life and no one was around. Thank you for teaching me something every day. Thank you for giving some cherishable memories that I can always embrace and endear. Thank you for every small thing you people had done in one way or other for me. And no matter where you are you will always be close to the heart cause distance, time and things do not change anything. For me, friendship needs only two things. Me and you.

And lastly a request that be there like you all have always been, when the rain starts to pour like you have been there before.

Your true friend.

The Vital Custom

Men are advancing day by day,
The success of which we can’t weigh.

Meanwhile, we are fighting for reservation,
That’s only thing rooted in our foundation.

It’s the necessity for under flourished,
Those who are destined to perish.

But nowadays it is a popular vogue,
Used to crush deserving under brogue.

Talented are migrating abroad,
It’s this law which is flawed.

From institution to the line of work,
Everywhere reserved ones give us a smirk.

How can one worthy get an opportunity?
Reservation engulfs their community.

I am not condemning the castes as such,
It’s the system I am against very much.

Surely there should be reservation but,
On other criterions so everyone can jut.

If implemented in a righteous manner,
Success will be there on every banner.

The Covert Tribe

Be it the world, nation or society,
People are its everything,
Cause they are the fount of them,
They are their uncrowned king.

It’s my countrymen I am talking about,
Each person of his own kind,
Irrespective of their inside nature,
To motherland, they are inclined.

Strangest of the strangest found here,
Who live in their own universe,
One better be away from them,
They’re not normal but inverse.

Some are very sweet though,
Their ambiance is never sad,
Tone and nature made from sugar,
Enough to make you mad.

Then comes the bizarre type,
That include genius, geeks, and nerds,
But don’t underestimate them,
This world runs on their words.

No driving sense on the road,
Every road belongs to their father,
Be quiet if you know how to drive,
That is probably best for you rather.

Blame the government for everything,
Promises it hasn’t been able to keep,
Doesn’t matter ground level development,
Just need the petrol and diesel cheap.

Queue is no word in their dictionary,
Just like the word responsibilities,
On asking how can the nation grow,
An answer came: Give us world-class facilities.

Well, whatever be they are like,
In the end, they are the compatriot,
Sweet, choleric, good, bad, genius,
All in all, they are the craziest.

Second To God

There is this one sport,
Not played on any kind of court,
Rather played in a ground,
Known by the name of Cricket,
Among Indians it’s renowned.

The game is second after temple,
Its worshipers being ample,
Cricketers are second to god,
Be it 2007 or 2011 World Cup,
Or the final of 1983 in Lord’s.

Every street houses a Tendulkar,
Soon to become next non-striker opener,
There are also like Virat Kohli,
Half century or century every other match,
No matter who the hell is bowling!

People are obsessed with Cricket,
Jump or cry depending upon fallen wicket,
India-Pakistan the best sporting rivalry,
No matter which team wins the match,
The nature of the ambiance is lively.

We know everything about this thing,
Like married the game with a ring,
Can scrutinize better than the fourth umpire,
No matter what is going in world,
To us, a cricket match is still higher.

It’s fed in us starting from birth,
Somethings you learn naturally on earth,
This is one among them,
The joy of watching a match,
Is like after effect of a rum.

The Known Truth

A kid asked his mother,
Why are holidays extended further?
Why are streets so dirt less?
On carrefour I can't see any mess.

Mother answered in low voice,
It's for Netaji's rejoice,
Tomorrow he will visit the city,
And doesn't want useless pity.

Are politicians always like that?
Before the election: a dog; after a cat!
A plethora of promises of development,
In power, they're nothing but ambivalent.

Incessant cases of their lord bribe,
They themselves a unique tribe,
Corruption like RBC in their blood,
And money like water in flood.

Representing the world's largest democracy,
Having a bizarre bantering idiosyncrasy,
Watching porn openly in parliament,
No wonder they've got real talent.

They know how to make one fool,
Better than that how to misrule,
All are equal before the law,
Is it obscured or I never saw?

Everybody's not a criminal,
Some are born without a miracle,
Kalam and Vajpayee are one among them,
Reinforced the Indian politics' stem.

A nation can be on top of the world,
Once again called the "Golden Bird",
For it, India requires no politicians,
But we the responsible Indians.

A Personal Note

To the nation I will always be indebted for everything it gave me, I thought of giving it back something special by giving its people something special. And then upon cogitating for a minute or so suddenly my mind said I can give: The joy of reading because when the words are penned down by someone in this nation they can either create magic or bring in a lot of controversies. Well, then I thought it will be a tough job so as to create magic without controversies. So I will try to create magic to the extent it will be possible by me but please forgive if the latter happens unknowingly.

So I thought of writing a short series of something and the title had already come into my mind. I would call it: The INDIA Series. But what this series will incorporate in it was the next major ordeal I had to contemplate about. I was left with many options like articles, satirical posts, but then I thought of penning down it in the forms of rhyme: yes the poems. And then the final obstacle what will I write about? And then this thought came to my mind that how about writing one poem for one thing that is very peculiar about India and very special to Indians.

So having the scheme in my mind I started off and took it to another level by deciding to publish 15 poems each for 1-15 August on the topics stated above. Then I thought that it will be a tough job as you have to maintain the quantity and quality both simultaneously to create the above-said magic. But I am ready for this endeavor because, in my opinion, that is what writing your thoughts is all about and for the country you love and owe so much you ought to go through this small calvary.

So, folks, I give you the pleasure of reading 15 poems in 15 days about everything you love, hate, embrace, endear and are proud of this diversified nation. And the final bewilderment I will reserve for the last two days i.e. 14 and 15 August.

And I have talked about magic, pleasure, and everything but before ending this note let me also take this opportunity in this note itself to thank all my readers for reading and above all appreciating the work I do. You guys are like everything to me when it comes to my love for writing cause it's only you people who acknowledge and praise my work. Who tell me my mistakes that need to be resolved. Who mail and message me personally to appreciate and mention the things they will like to read. And I can't tell you guys how humble and overwhelmed I am when I think about all this. To guys who are bringing out the writer in me, a very big thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And to end this note, lastly, I want to say that for me "Writing is a passion, not compulsion." Because that is why I started and that is why I should continue and end because that protects the true essence of my passion.

Thank You.

Yours truly.
