The Golden Bird!

A nation that created me,
That gave me everything,
Flag that has colors three,
The national symbol having a king.

The day I was born,
I breathed in its air,
That day unaware of the horn,
Was busy crying in tears.

Indebted to it,
For the life it gave me,
Above all it made me sit,
Could not have been so free.

Later came to know,
What a nation means to one,
Help it to grow,
The work is still undone.

Politics is understood,
As a dirty field here,
No one enters to make it good,
And they say: why we'd bear?

Cricket is that jewel to us,
You can't take away,
Even single matches create a fuss,
We win that is all we pray.

Reservation is our food,
Without which we can't live,
If your tribe has been screwed,
Come everything we will give.

A lifeline to people,
Every month we have ample,
Celebrating love and joy ripple,
They are our dear festivals.

People: they are just jaunty,
They will make you happy,
They welcome you fondly,
Love is what they always carry.

When comes to the nation,
They are not responsible,
Blaming each other in accusation,
That is why development is impossible.

Well, one day they will wake,
One day a new sun will rise,
The day that will be the last break,
The boat that will never capsize.

No matter how they are,
I still love them,
Brothers, sisters not by far,
We are the roots and stems.

Albeit 29 in number,
They still stand as one,
All bear to make a tricolor,
Without even one, we are none.

Lastly, I want to say,
Stop arm-chair politics people,
That is not our way,
It's in our hand to remove evil.

Incorporating all these facts,
No matter what says media,
The nation that always attracts,
I love my India, I love my India.

Diversified Yet Unified

No one is one until united,
An entity that is the symbol of pride,
Some call it states, we call it the nation,
For the people that are unified.

Albeit a disputed area, Jammu
And Kashmir has been since birth,
Still, no one can ignore the fact,
It is the heaven on the earth.

One of the most fertile land,
You can find on the globe,
Farms, Rivers, Bhangra, Lassi,
Rare things in its wardrobe.

A land of wrestlers and boxers,
Haryanvi is their special trait,
Sports is in the root of the crowd,
Yet most economically developed state.

Mountain and Valleys everywhere,
Snow adds to the beauty of the landscape,
Waterfalls, greenery, and the aura,
You will be awestruck with a gape.

A conglomeration of every culture,
Land of spirituality and khadi boli,
Most populous state of the nation,
The land is divine and holy.

One can find holy temples,
Art and craft its specialty,
Scenic beauty is ample.

For the people that love,
Culture and heritage of the country,
Also called as the heart of India,
The land is famous for its history.

The capital of the nation,
Summers hot, winters chilly,
You will love the place,
Dil waalo ki bani hain Dilli.

Famous for its food all over,
Raja's and Maharaja's ruling place,
Hot deserts and villages a delight,

Jolly people, rich culture, and snacks,
Adorable are its nights and noons.

Rains of Mumbai that amazes,
Begeted Bollywood and Vada-Pav,
One of the most amazing places.

Famous for history and politicians,
The land of prodigious ones,
Knowledge is in their blood,
Everyone they outrun.

Amber dum biryani of Vellore,
Temples of Mahabalipuram.

Second longest coastline,
Home to the Tollywood,
Places like Visakhapatnam,

On June 2nd, 2014,
It achieved separate statehood.

You can find the Western Ghats,

The cuisine is best for your belly.

Another holy place of the nation,
Simplipal National Park is here,
See the sunset in Chandipur Beach,
Lose yourself in sanctity that is rare.

Every time uncovered by media,
Still, home to natural beauty,
Chattisgarhiya sabse badiya.

Sweet as the real sweets,
Jolly people, and rivers,
Always give you a treat.

Bihu celebrated in three types,
Home to one-horned rhinoceros,
Tea gardens a lifeline of India,
The city of Guwahati is glorious.

One of the seven sisters,
Maximum rain, wettest region,
Rich in flora and fauna,
Pineapple is grown in a legion.

Although an insurgency-hit,
Still a beautiful place,
Introduced polo to Europeans,
Here history has its trace.

Most of the state is mountainous,
The elegance of the state unfurled,
One of the smallest state,
Falcon capital of the world.

Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains,
Most diversified state,
The Orchid state of India,
Because of its distinguished trait.

Smallest state of the country,
Represents landscape like Leh,
Cold breezes air on sunny days,
Will not let you say heh.

Mines here, mines there,
Mines are everywhere,
Rich in mineral resources,
Here flows a different air.

Bamboo and cane tracts,
Third smallest state of the nation,
Green imperial pigeon state bird
House of beautiful hill stations.

91% of the state forested,
Home to unique tribes,
The landscape and climate,
Words cannot describe.

The Indescribable Beauty

A young lad started a journey,
To one of the remote villages of the country,
Slowly through the window of his seat,
Scenes started to change,
From big building and structures,
To perpetual farms and fields.

Initially, he savored what he saw,
The change in the atmosphere around,
Suddenly after some time, a disgust aroused,
The same change in the atmosphere,
Which he was relishing moments ago,
Now made him suffocate in that pure air.

The day passed and the sun rose next day,
Contemplating his thoughts again,
The kid observed something different,
Made him fall in love with the place,
A peace and serenity lied there,
A simple living he couldn’t overlook.

Wondering of his incorrect thoughts,
Wondering of his false perceptions,
Amidst of all, anew air started to flow,
A vibe that had all the positivity in it,
Adoring the place for its ingenuousness,
He desired to be one among them.

Then the time came for his departure,
A place now he wanted to never leave,
Lingering and praying to stay there,
Finally, he managed to leave,
Savoring every experience he had,
He left the place unaltered in its essence.

Legends like Amitabh Bachchan,

Just have will and quality of move on,

Representing Indian cinema on the sphere.

The Vital Custom

Men are advancing day by day,
The success of which we can’t weigh.

Meanwhile, we are fighting for reservation,
That’s only thing rooted in our foundation.

It’s the necessity for under flourished,
Those who are destined to perish.

But nowadays it is a popular vogue,
Used to crush deserving under brogue.

Talented are migrating abroad,
It’s this law which is flawed.

From institution to the line of work,
Everywhere reserved ones give us a smirk.

How can one worthy get an opportunity?
Reservation engulfs their community.

I am not condemning the castes as such,
It’s the system I am against very much.

Surely there should be reservation but,
On other criterions so everyone can jut.

If implemented in a righteous manner,
Success will be there on every banner.

The Covert Tribe

Be it the world, nation or society,
People are its everything,
Cause they are the fount of them,
They are their uncrowned king.

It’s my countrymen I am talking about,
Each person of his own kind,
Irrespective of their inside nature,
To motherland, they are inclined.

Strangest of the strangest found here,
Who live in their own universe,
One better be away from them,
They’re not normal but inverse.

Some are very sweet though,
Their ambiance is never sad,
Tone and nature made from sugar,
Enough to make you mad.

Then comes the bizarre type,
That include genius, geeks, and nerds,
But don’t underestimate them,
This world runs on their words.

No driving sense on the road,
Every road belongs to their father,
Be quiet if you know how to drive,
That is probably best for you rather.

Blame the government for everything,
Promises it hasn’t been able to keep,
Doesn’t matter ground level development,
Just need the petrol and diesel cheap.

Queue is no word in their dictionary,
Just like the word responsibilities,
On asking how can the nation grow,
An answer came: Give us world-class facilities.

Well, whatever be they are like,
In the end, they are the compatriot,
Sweet, choleric, good, bad, genius,
All in all, they are the craziest.

Second To God

There is this one sport,
Not played on any kind of court,
Rather played in a ground,
Known by the name of Cricket,
Among Indians it’s renowned.

The game is second after temple,
Its worshipers being ample,
Cricketers are second to god,
Be it 2007 or 2011 World Cup,
Or the final of 1983 in Lord’s.

Every street houses a Tendulkar,
Soon to become next non-striker opener,
There are also like Virat Kohli,
Half century or century every other match,
No matter who the hell is bowling!

People are obsessed with Cricket,
Jump or cry depending upon fallen wicket,
India-Pakistan the best sporting rivalry,
No matter which team wins the match,
The nature of the ambiance is lively.

We know everything about this thing,
Like married the game with a ring,
Can scrutinize better than the fourth umpire,
No matter what is going in world,
To us, a cricket match is still higher.

It’s fed in us starting from birth,
Somethings you learn naturally on earth,
This is one among them,
The joy of watching a match,
Is like after effect of a rum.

The Known Truth

A kid asked his mother,
Why are holidays extended further?
Why are streets so dirt less?
On carrefour I can't see any mess.

Mother answered in low voice,
It's for Netaji's rejoice,
Tomorrow he will visit the city,
And doesn't want useless pity.

Are politicians always like that?
Before the election: a dog; after a cat!
A plethora of promises of development,
In power, they're nothing but ambivalent.

Incessant cases of their lord bribe,
They themselves a unique tribe,
Corruption like RBC in their blood,
And money like water in flood.

Representing the world's largest democracy,
Having a bizarre bantering idiosyncrasy,
Watching porn openly in parliament,
No wonder they've got real talent.

They know how to make one fool,
Better than that how to misrule,
All are equal before the law,
Is it obscured or I never saw?

Everybody's not a criminal,
Some are born without a miracle,
Kalam and Vajpayee are one among them,
Reinforced the Indian politics' stem.

A nation can be on top of the world,
Once again called the "Golden Bird",
For it, India requires no politicians,
But we the responsible Indians.

A Personal Note

To the nation I will always be indebted for everything it gave me, I thought of giving it back something special by giving its people something special. And then upon cogitating for a minute or so suddenly my mind said I can give: The joy of reading because when the words are penned down by someone in this nation they can either create magic or bring in a lot of controversies. Well, then I thought it will be a tough job so as to create magic without controversies. So I will try to create magic to the extent it will be possible by me but please forgive if the latter happens unknowingly.

So I thought of writing a short series of something and the title had already come into my mind. I would call it: The INDIA Series. But what this series will incorporate in it was the next major ordeal I had to contemplate about. I was left with many options like articles, satirical posts, but then I thought of penning down it in the forms of rhyme: yes the poems. And then the final obstacle what will I write about? And then this thought came to my mind that how about writing one poem for one thing that is very peculiar about India and very special to Indians.

So having the scheme in my mind I started off and took it to another level by deciding to publish 15 poems each for 1-15 August on the topics stated above. Then I thought that it will be a tough job as you have to maintain the quantity and quality both simultaneously to create the above-said magic. But I am ready for this endeavor because, in my opinion, that is what writing your thoughts is all about and for the country you love and owe so much you ought to go through this small calvary.

So, folks, I give you the pleasure of reading 15 poems in 15 days about everything you love, hate, embrace, endear and are proud of this diversified nation. And the final bewilderment I will reserve for the last two days i.e. 14 and 15 August.

And I have talked about magic, pleasure, and everything but before ending this note let me also take this opportunity in this note itself to thank all my readers for reading and above all appreciating the work I do. You guys are like everything to me when it comes to my love for writing cause it's only you people who acknowledge and praise my work. Who tell me my mistakes that need to be resolved. Who mail and message me personally to appreciate and mention the things they will like to read. And I can't tell you guys how humble and overwhelmed I am when I think about all this. To guys who are bringing out the writer in me, a very big thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And to end this note, lastly, I want to say that for me "Writing is a passion, not compulsion." Because that is why I started and that is why I should continue and end because that protects the true essence of my passion.

Thank You.

Yours truly.
